How we got here

20+ years in the same room.

HandyCafe started as free management software for internet cafes at a time when a cafe owner's alternatives were a notebook and a stopwatch. It spread by being free, by being translated and by being small enough to run on the hardware venues actually had.

The venues changed. Rows of browsing machines became gaming floors, then consoles arrived, then esports centers, then members who expect an app rather than a paper card. The billing problem stayed the same while everything around it moved.

Genesis is the rebuild for that floor. Native server and client on Windows, Linux and Apple Silicon macOS. A local database that keeps working when the line drops. A cloud link for the owner who is not in the building. A player screen that looks like the venue rather than a login box.

The venue works offline

A dropped connection is a normal Tuesday, not an incident. Billing and sessions run from the local database for a set offline window.

Your data is yours

The operational database stays on your machine, in a format you can back up and restore yourself.

Twenty five languages, kept in step

Twenty five languages, reviewed against a locked glossary so the same term means the same thing everywhere, including right to left interfaces.

Native, not a browser in a box

The server and client are native applications on Windows, Linux and Apple Silicon macOS, built to run on the hardware a venue already owns.

Is HandyCafe free?

HandyCafe Legacy, the 4.x generation, was free to download and is where the free reputation comes from. Venues that already have a Legacy license keep running it at no cost, but new free registrations are closed. HandyCafe Genesis, the current generation, is a paid product priced per client PC.

Is HandyCafe Legacy still supported?

Yes. Venues already running HandyCafe Legacy keep working and the installer is still available for download. New free registrations are closed and Legacy is no longer sold. Nothing forces a move to Genesis.

What is the difference between HandyCafe Legacy and Genesis?

HandyCafe Legacy was Windows only, with a local server, no cloud link, no console support and no mobile apps. Genesis is a rebuild: native server and client on Windows, Linux and Apple Silicon macOS, a local database, console support, a member app and the cloud link.

Can I still download HandyCafe Legacy?

Yes. The HandyCafe Legacy installer is still available and existing installations keep running. Legacy is no longer sold and new free registrations are closed. For help with an existing Legacy license, contact us.

Is HandyCafe a Turkish company?

The brand started in Türkiye. HandyCafe Genesis is developed and published by HandyCafe, LLC, a United States company registered in Delaware. Support runs in English and Turkish.
