Runs on its own at the frequency and hour you choose. Nobody has to remember it. It does not interrupt the floor while it runs.
HandyCafe runs on your own computer. The cloud adds backup and remote access.
Cloud is not a separate product you buy on top. It is the connection that adds Cloud Backup, one-click restore, remote commands, venue profile, tournaments and daily suggestions to the HandyCafe you already run. Included in Genesis, at no extra cost.
- Cloud Backup included
- No open port to the internet
- Local database stays local
Cloud Backup, included in Genesis.
A copy that lives outside the venue.
A venue database that lives on a single machine is one power failure, one theft or one ransomware attack away from being lost. Cloud backup takes a clean copy on a schedule you set, compresses it, sends it outside the building and keeps it ready to restore. You do not pay extra for it: it is part of the Genesis package.
Anywhere a single database quietly carries the year: member balances, session history, cash records, stock and orders. The bigger that history gets, the less acceptable it is to keep the only copy in the building.
Pick a backup from the list and confirm. The app restarts on that copy, so you never have to export a file, import it somewhere or open a support ticket.
The copy is taken as a single atomic snapshot. It is never a half-written database captured mid-transaction.
Keep the last 10 copies, or keep everything from the last 30 days. You pick the rule.
Restoring keeps a copy of the current database first. An accidental restore is itself reversible.
One button before a price change, a migration or a hardware move. Local copies keep rotating in parallel.
Cloud security: nothing on the internet reaches into your network.
The connection was designed around one rule. The venue gives out only what it decides to give out. Nothing on the internet gets to reach into your network.
Nothing dials in
The HandyCafe Genesis server opens the connection outward and proves who it is. Nothing dials into your network. There is no open port and no forwarding rule.
Replay protected handshake
Every connection carries a timestamp and a single-use nonce inside a narrow window. A captured message cannot be replayed later against your venue.
Commands cannot double-charge
Each cloud command carries its own id and is checked on the venue. A retry, a refresh or a second send is applied once and written to the log.
The venue stays the authority
Money, sessions and member records are decided by your server against your database. The cloud asks, it does not decide.
Backups travel encrypted
Snapshots are compressed and uploaded over TLS, authenticated with your own licence token, into storage scoped to your account.
A file you can open yourself
A backup is a standard SQLite database file. You can download it, open it and keep it yourself. Nothing is locked inside a closed format.
Offline is a normal state
If the line drops, billing, sessions and members carry on from the local database for a set offline window. The link reconnects on its own and catches up.
Scoped to the account that claimed it
A venue belongs to the account that paired it. No other account can see it, command it or reach its backups.
Connecting a venue: three steps, then the panel is live.
Pairing runs from the server you already installed. No agent to install on every PC, no fixed IP, no router work.
Install the server
The Genesis server runs on the machine behind the desk, on Windows, macOS or Linux.
Pair the venue
Sign in with your HandyCafe account and pick the venue you are claiming. The server takes its licence from that account.
Open the Cloud tab
Live Link turns green and the cloud sections appear inside the app, next to the screens you already use.
The link authenticates with a per-connection timestamp and nonce. A message it cannot verify is dropped rather than executed.
Inside the Cloud tab: what the connection adds.
Day to day work stays in the desktop app. You do not need a second tab open to run your cafe.
Connection state, sync queue and unread cloud messages in one overview. You can tell at a glance whether the venue is talking to the cloud.
Payment notices, announcements and info from the cloud, with the ones that need you to act marked as such.
The provider catalog for the venue. Payment methods are configured once and follow the account.
Remote commands: see what is happening, then change it.
A view that only reports is a report. The link carries a chosen set of commands. A problem can be closed from the account instead of from the desk.
Lock or release client login. Log a session out of a machine
Add time or credit to a running session
Apply money, minutes, packages, debt or refunds to a member
Update the member record behind an account
Change PC and console quota after a plan change
Send a reservation from the cloud to the venue floor
Apply a licence or seat change without going to the desk
Every cloud command carries its own id and is checked on the venue, so it can only run once. A repeated send cannot charge a member twice.
Free download for Windows, Mac and Linux.
Install HandyCafe, connect your clients and evaluate the daily workflow with real sessions, rates and reports. Already running HandyCafe or EveryCafe? Bring your members, balances and history with you.
Cloud and Cafeteria are included in every package at no extra charge. AI answers use credits and each package includes a monthly allowance.
Your venue page: somewhere members can actually find you.
The venue profile you fill in once becomes the page members see in the app and on the venue map: cover image, description, contact details and opening hours, with an open or closed state taken from those hours.
Cover image, description and identity
Phone, website, email and social links
Opening hours with live open state
Tournaments and events listed against the venue
Reservations from members arrive as a notification in the app
Daily suggestions and benchmark: read the week without exporting it.
Suggestions are prepared once a day from the venue's own records and sorted by how urgent and how useful they are, with past days kept in history. Benchmark adds the outside view: combined figures with no venue names, so you can compare your own numbers, daily or monthly.
How your week compares
Combined figures with no venue names, daily or monthly. Compare how full you are and how sessions run, without anyone seeing which venue is yours.
The account dashboard: licences and billing in the browser.
Venue operations stay in the app. What belongs to the account rather than to daily work sits in the cloud dashboard, reachable from any machine.
Licences, seat counts and plan changes
Invoices, payment methods and billing history
Venue list with connection state
Support requests with their history
Reseller tools for partners
The game catalog runs on this connection.
Covers, genres, ratings, descriptions and the trending lists your players see all arrive through the cloud link.
The mobile apps ride the same connection.
HandyCafe Manager for owners and HandyCafe Gamer for members read live venue data through this link. Both are free.
Cloud and backup questions.
Package structure, included services and what you need to run them, in plain words.
Ask another questionDoes HandyCafe Cloud cost extra?
No. HandyCafe Cloud is part of the Genesis package, together with Cafeteria. Daily suggestions and the benchmark are included too. The AI chat assistant is the one feature that runs on separately bought credits.
Do I need a static IP or router configuration?
No. The venue server opens the connection outward. There is no port to forward and no incoming rule to write.
What happens when the internet goes down?
The venue keeps working. Sessions, billing and members run from the local database for a set offline window. The link reconnects on its own when the line returns.
Can I manage more than one venue?
Yes. Venues sit in the same HandyCafe account, each with its own seat count, staff and reports.
Where is my data stored?
The operational database stays on your own server. The HandyCafe cloud holds the account, the venue link, the published venue page and whatever backups you choose to upload.
How often does HandyCafe back up? How do I restore a backup?
Cloud Backup runs on the schedule you set. The Backup and Sync section shows the last run and the next one. A manual run is one button. Restoring is a list, a confirmation and a restart on that copy.
Does the cloud need software installed on every client PC?
No. Pairing runs from the venue server you already installed. There is no agent to install on each PC, no fixed IP and no router setup.
HandyCafe keeps running on the computer at your cafe. You can check it from anywhere.
Install the server, connect it once and the cloud sections appear inside the app you already use. Sessions, members and money stay in your own database.
