Customer AI Chat
Customer AI Chat puts an AI assistant on the client desktop. Customers ask it anything: homework, translations, game tips, writing help. Each answer is charged to them.
This is separate from the AI Assistant, which is the operator tool on the server.
Turning It On
Open Settings, then Pricing. Find the AI Chat pricing block.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Offer AI chat to customers | Shows the AI chat assistant on client PCs |
| Profit margin | Your markup on the wholesale token cost |
You only choose a margin. The customer price is derived automatically from the wholesale token cost in your currency. A margin of 30 means the customer pays your cost plus 30 percent. A typical range is 20 to 100.
The token cost itself is drawn from your Cloud AI credit. The feature therefore needs an active Cloud connection with credit available.
What the Customer Sees
The assistant opens from AI Chat on the client desktop.
The first time it opens, a consent screen explains that this is a paid service: you pay only for what you use, longer questions and answers cost a bit more, members pay from their balance and guests pay with their session. Nothing is charged until the customer accepts.
Once open, the panel shows:
- The current balance.
- The total spent in this conversation.
- A note that charges are added to the session bill.
New chat starts a fresh conversation. Copy puts an answer on the clipboard. Download exports the whole conversation as a transcript.
How Charging Works
Charges are per token. A short question with a short answer costs very little. The cost is calculated when the answer arrives.
| Customer | Charged against |
|---|---|
| Member | The member balance |
| Guest | The session, collected when the session is settled |
Each charge appears in the logs as AI chat charged, with the amount and token count. On reports it is noted as AI chat with the token count.
What Blocks a Message
| Message the customer sees | Cause |
|---|---|
| Insufficient balance. Please see the cashier. | The member balance or session credit does not cover the request |
| The AI quota for this cafe is exhausted. Please see the cashier. | Your Cloud AI credit has run out |
| Please contact the cashier. | No AI credit is available for the cafe |
| You are sending messages too quickly. Please wait a moment. | The per-customer rate limit was hit |
| The daily message limit for this PC has been reached. | The station reached its daily cap |
| The message is too long. | The question exceeds the length limit |
| The AI service cannot be reached right now. | The Cloud connection is down. It is worth retrying |
| AI chat is currently unavailable. | The feature is off, or the license token is missing |
None of these charge the customer.
Practical Notes
- Set the margin before switching the feature on. Customers see the derived price immediately.
- Top up your Cloud AI credit before a busy period. An exhausted quota stops every station at once.
- The transcript download is the customer's copy. It is not stored on the server.
