Sounds Settings

The Sounds Settings category configures the notification sounds that play on the server when specific events occur on client PCs.

Master Sounds Toggle

A master toggle at the top of the page enables or disables all notification sounds globally. When disabled, no sounds play regardless of per-event configuration. When enabled, each event uses its individually assigned sound.

Events

Four events can trigger notification sounds:

Call Cashier

Triggered when a customer presses the "Call Cashier" button on their client PC. This alerts the cashier that a customer needs assistance.

New Order

Triggered when a customer submits a new food or drink order from their client PC. This notifies the cashier or kitchen staff that an order is waiting.

Session End

Triggered when a customer's session timer expires or they end their session. This alerts the cashier that a PC is now available.

Login Request

Triggered when a member or OAuth user initiates a login request that requires approval. This notifies the administrator that action is needed.

Available Sounds

Each event can be assigned one of 15 built-in sounds:

Sound Name
Cabin Chime
Register Ding
Calm Marimba
Ascending Tone
Gentle Bell
Digital Pulse
Crystal Drop
Soft Chime
Bubble Pop
Piano Note
Harp Gliss
Metal Ping
Warm Glow
Wood Tap

Sound Preview

Each sound in the selection list has a play button. Click it to hear a preview of the sound. While a preview is playing, a visual playing indicator is displayed next to the sound name.

Use the preview feature to choose sounds that are distinct enough to tell apart in a busy cafe environment. For example, you might assign a bright, attention-grabbing sound to "Call Cashier" and a softer tone to "Session End."

Real-Time Playback

Sounds trigger in real time on the server when the corresponding event occurs on any connected client. For example, if a customer at PC 7 places an order, the "New Order" sound plays immediately on the server's speakers.

Ensure that the server machine has working speakers or is connected to the cafe's audio system for the sounds to be audible.
